Jiri Prochazka has become one of the most feared UFC fighters ever since his debut back in 2020. Since then, Prochazka has competed inside the octagon twice winning both fights by knockout. One thing that separates him from his fellow light-heavyweights is his explosiveness. ‘BJP’ has a very unique fighting style thanks to his extremely unorthodox training style.
While normal fighters punch bags and mitts, the Czech does something else on top of that. Jiri Prochazka likes to punch trees while preparing for his fights. Yes, you read that right. In fact, it is a known fact that he punches around 500 trees in a day.

Jiri Prochazka talked about his training technique during his appearance on The MMA Hour back in November last year. He said:
“It’s helpful for me, it’s good for the body to be in the technique. To be like a rock, then I can go through the opponents’ bodies with my technique, and my technique can be more dangerous. It’s a good training for the body.”
Can Jiri Prochazka become the UFC light-heavyweight champion?
With just two fights deep into his UFC career, Jiri Prochazka is won win away from getting his hands on the UFC light-heavyweight championship belt. The Czech fighter is set to face Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 on June 12th.

The highly anticipated light-heavyweight championship bout will be Glover Teixeira’s first title defense as well. Going into the fight, Jiri Prochazka has emerged as a massive favorite and will most likely get his hands on the UFC gold. The Czech fighter is much more explosive and technically gifted than Jan Blachowicz who was beaten by Teixeira in his conquest to become the champion.
However, Glover Teixeira’s experience in the octagon is much greater than that of the 29-year-old. Moreover, Teixeira has risen against the odds on many occasions and he will be looking forward to pulling off yet another upset when he takes on ‘BJP’. Regardless of what the outcome will be on June 12th, the fans can most certainly expect to witness an action-packed fight between these two.
