UFC President Dana White has seemingly left the door open for a potential fight between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor. Jake Paul has time and again called out Conor McGregor to fight him in a boxing ring several times in the past.
Recently, Dana White made an appearance on Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast and was questioned about a potential fight between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor. When asked about his thoughts on the matter, White actually said he was open to the idea, but he is not sure if it is actually feasible.
“Probably not though, but I’ve never completely closed off to anything. I used to say that about, you know, things. But I don’t say that anymore because you never know. You never know what could happen.” said Dana White.
Dana White on why Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor may not happen
Despite being open to a Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor fight, Dana White has shut down the idea due to the size difference. White thinks Jake Paul is too big for Conor McGregor. The UFC president went on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive, where he said that the Irishman is a 145, 155lbs fighter while Paul fights at around 190lbs.
“Well, he shouldn’t even be fighting Conor McGregor,” White said on Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul. “These guys (the Paul brothers) are f**king huge. He’s (Logan) huge and his brother (Jake) is huge. What’s your brother, 6’1”, 210? Conor McGregor is 145, 155 pound. There are weight classes for a reason.” said White.
There is no question that there is a massive skill gap between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor but the size and power could play a factor. If the fight does happen, it would be one of the biggest fights in recent memory as the two are massive stars and many would be intrigued to see how Jake Paul would fare against Conor McGregor.
