Heavyweight fighters Josh Parisian and Alan Baudot will face each other at UFC on ESPN 38. Both Parisian and Baudot are coming off losses. While the former lost to Don’Tale Mayes via knockout, the latter suffered a decision loss to Parker Porter in February of this year.
Josh Parisian’s knockout win over Chad Johnson at Dana White‘s Contender Series in 2020 got him into the company. But Josh has had a hard time in the UFC. He did earn a split decision victory over Roque Martinez in June of 2021, which was sandwiched between losses to Parker Porter and Don’Tale Mayes.

Since then, Alan is yet to pick up his first win in the UFC. While the Rodrigo Nascimento bout ended in a no-contest, Baudot lost to Parker Porter via decision.

Josh Parisian and Alan Baudot are both good strikers that try their best to knock out their respective opponents. Parisian has a bit more range as he has submission wins to his resume as well. He has 10 knockouts and 2 submission wins. However, in the UFC, he has depended more on striking.
He lands 4.92 strikes per minute while absorbing 4.95 at the same time. It shows his knack for getting into brawls. Parisian’s opponent this Saturday is also a brawler. Alan Baudot lands a high volume of strikes per minute and also absorbs as much. He lands 5.12 strikes while absorbing 4.68. Hence, the fans can expect this fight to have fireworks.

However, Parisian can make life easier for himself if he relies a bit more on his grappling skills. He can also try mixing up his power punches with some occasional takedowns. But the way his last few bouts have gone, it is more likely to be a brawl. While it will give Josh the chance to get a KO, the same can be said about Alan Baudot as well.
