UFC is set to return to its Apex facility in Las Vegas this weekend on June 25th for a stacked Fight Night event. Even though the card lacks high profile names, the event features a number of matchups will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats.
With that being said, let us preview a fight from the main card of the event between Thiago Moises and Christos Giagos. Going into the fight, the odds are stacked in the favor of Moises even though he is on a two fight losing streak.

On the flipside, Christos Giagos is also coming into the fight following a loss to Arman Tsarukyan. Fans shouldn’t really expect to see a lot of striking in this fight as both fighters are elite level grapplers and will look to make the best use of their expertise. There isn’t really much that seperates both fighters from each other as there is barely any reach and height difference between the two. However, Moises has age by his side and is five years younger than his opponent.
Stats | Thiago Moises | Christos Giagos |
---|---|---|
Wins | 15 | 14 |
Losses | 6 | 0 |
Height | 1.75 m | 1.78 m |
Division | Lightweight | Lightweight |
Reach | 179.1 cm | 181.6 cm |
Age | 27 years old | 32 years old |
Can Thiago Moises snap his losing streak?
As mentioned earlier, Thiago Mosises is walking into the fight carrying a two fight losing streak on his back. He was on a three fight winning streak before crashing into Islam Makhachev who handed him a submission loss. Looking to redeem his loss to the Russian, Moises ended up suffering his second defeat on a trot to Joel Alvarez via KO.
While Christos Giagos will try to get a win himself, it is hard to imagine him giving hard time to Thiago Moises. The Brazilian will most probably have answers for everything that his opponent has to offer and walk away with a victory.
With both fighters looking to fall back to the winning ways, it will be interesting to see who comes out of this fight with their hands held high. Our prediction: Thiago Moises via submission
