Michael ‘Venom’ Page is one of the biggest names in the combat sports industry. He has participated in several combat sports in his career. He has professional records in MMA, boxing, and bare-knuckle boxing. Initially, however, Page used to ply his trade in kickboxing.
According to his official website, Page has accumulated 10 kickboxing world titles and over 20 British titles. Born on April 7, 1987, in London, England, Page’s family was full of MMA fighters. It was natural for him to pick a career in combat sports. He started training as early as the age of 3 and started competing at the age of 5. He devoted himself to competition by the age of 8 and started winning championships soon after.
Page was reportedly dissatisfied with the lack of exposure in the kickboxing world. He made a move to MMA and made his professional debut in February 2012 on Ultimate Challenge MMA (UCMMA) – an MMA promotion in the UK. He won that bout via TKO in the first round. Page even fought at the Super Fight League in the inaugural year of the Indian promotion.
Later, Page joined Bellator and continued his domination. He remained undefeated in 14 fights in seven years with all except one (middleweight) coming in the welterweight division.
Within those seven years, Page also made his boxing debut. In October 2017, Page fought Jonathan Castano and earned a boxing debut win via TKO in the third round. He fought again in June 2018 against Michal Ciach and won again via TKO.
Michael ‘Venom’ Page has lost only twice in his MMA career
In the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix Semi-final bout, MVP faced Douglas Lima on May 13, 2019. Lima was as dangerous a fighter if not more than MVP. The Brazilian proved his dominance after picking up a knockout win over the Englishman. Lima went on to defeat Rory MacDonald in the final to win the title.
Page did not hold back and continued his dominance in Bellator as he picked up another winning streak. Following five consecutive wins after his loss to Lima, he got a shot at redemption. At Bellator 267 in October 2021, Page faced Lima again. This time, the Englishman won the bout via split decision.
However, Page’s second loss was waiting for him after his redemption. He faced Logan Storley at Bellator 281 for the interim Bellator Welterweight World Championship. Page was defeated via split decision and missed out on a title again.
A few months later, MVP tried out bare-knuckle boxing. He faced a debut loss via majority decision against Mike Perry at BKFC 27: London.
Following his Bellator 292 win against Goiti Yamauchi, Page became a free agent. He was signed by UFC CEO Dana White in 2023. Although he has two losses in his career, UFC made a big blunder and kept his record as 12-0 on their official site.
