Over the years, Marlon “Chito” Vera has made a name for himself in the world of mixed martial arts. Vera’s toughness inside the UFC Octagon and his power punches have served him the distinction of being one of the best in his division. At just 30 years of age, Vera has claimed the ladder of the UFC’s bantamweight division and is also the first fighter to beat Sean O’Malley.
That’s not all! With wins over the likes of Dominick Cruz, Rob Font, and Frankie Edgar among others, Vera has already made it to the history books. While it’s safe to say, more glory awaits the Ecuador star, here’s taking a look at an incredible record that puts him in the same group as Max Holloway and Jon Jones.
Marlon Vera has never been knocked down in his 20-fight UFC career
We all know Max Holloway has never been knocked down and despite facing some serious power punchers including the likes of Dustin Poirier, Conor McGregor, Anthony Pettis, and Jeremy Stephens among others, Holloway‘s iron chin continues to baffle MMA fans. The Blessed has lost seven times in his UFC career, all of them coming via way of decision losses barring a submission loss that came against Dustin Poirier early in his career. Interestingly enough, even Marlon Vera has never been knocked down in his UFC career as well.
No. Her chin in a league of its own. That sound of contact was unreal. https://t.co/3pl28fhXzm

He has competed in 20 fights in his UFC career spanning eight years. This puts him on a list of UFC fighters with 20+ UFC appearances that have never been stopped or knocked down. Jon Jones, a career spanning 22 fights and 14 years has never been knocked down in his UFC career too.
It’s not wrong to say, fans are reminded of Nate Diaz whenever the conversation is about having a granite chin, however, the Stockton Slugger has suffered several knockdowns in his UFC career, even getting stopped against Josh Thomson.
