Matthew Semelsberger wasted no time as he picked up his second straight win inside the UFC Octagon. Semelsberger picked up a vicious 16 seconds KO win over Jason Witt. With the victory, the welterweight contender registered his name for one of the fastest knockouts in the UFC’s welterweight division.

UFC Vegas 21 kicks off with a scintillating stoppage win. Needless to say, it sent fight fans into a frenzy as Semelsberger picked up the stoppage victory in what appeared to be a solid jab that dropped Jason Witt.

One can argue it was a straight right hand that cracked Witt’s chin as he fell straight to the ground with his head bouncing off the canvas. The former American football defensive back has definitely made a name for himself and is a top contender for tonight’s performance bonus award.

While the fastest win in the UFC’s welterweight division resides with Jorge Masvidal, this knockout will certainly be remembered for some time to come. It could also plummet Semelsberger’s growth in the welterweight division. Needless to say, he will look to fight a ranked opponent next as he goes forward in his quest to capture the UFC gold.

UFC Vegas 21 marks the return of Leon Edwards

UFC Vegas 21 marks the return of #3 ranked welterweight contender Leon Edwards after almost 20 months of absence from the Octagon. Edwards last competed in 2019 against former champion Rafael dos Anjos where he picked up a comfortable unanimous decision win to register his eighth straight wins inside the UFC Octagon.

Leon Edwards

Leon Edwards was scheduled to take on Khamzat Chimaev and the flight was booked on three different occasions. Edwards vs Chimaev was expected to main-event UFC Vegas 21, however, Chimaev had to pull out of the bout due to lingering health problems due to coronavirus. Edwards will take on short-notice replacement in the form of Belal Muhammad.

Needless to say, it is a huge opportunity for Belal Muhammad as well, who will look to create an upset and cement his name in the division with a win over top-contender Leon Edwards. Additionally, Muhammad could also find himself in the title picture if he can get a highlight reel win over the top-contender.
