Islam Makhachev will take on Bobby Green at UFC Apex, Las Vegas, Nevada this Saturday to headline UFC Vegas 49. Islam was originally scheduled to fight Beneil Dariush. But, an unfortunate injury led to the current scenario. Interestingly no other fighter in the top 10 agreed to go against Islam. However, Green jumped on the opportunity.
Since both the fighters took the fight on such short notice, the fight will happen in catchweight. Also, Green is coming off a win against Nasrat at UFC 271. So, it is evident that Green didn’t want to shock him again within a period of two weeks. As Makhchev’s coach stated on this issue: “Green deserved enjoyment after the win“.

On the contrary, Islam Makhachev is on a 9 fight win streak. Needless to say, his title shot is around the corner. He just has to defeat Green dominantly and if everything goes well he will face Oliveira or Justin for the title soon. This is yet another reason which makes the fight even more interesting.
So, with a few days left to this exciting fight, let us take a look and compare the height, reach and weight difference between the two fighters.
Tale of the Tape: Islam Makhachev vs Bobby Green
Islam Makhachev is currently ranked fourth in the lightweight division. The Dagestani stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and has a reach of 70 inches. Bobby Green on the other hand also has a height of 5 feet 10 inches. But, has a one-inch advantage when it comes to “reach”. Green has a reach of 71 inches. There isn’t a significant difference between their height and reach.
But, that won’t be the case when it comes to weight. Normally not the fighters weigh around 155 pounds for their fights. However, this isn’t a normal scenario and Bobby weighed 180 pounds on the day he agreed to fight Makhachev. So, both agreed to make this fight at 160 pounds.
