In a busy month of UFC action, we have another UFC fight night upon us. Thus, with UFC Vegas 69, we will be treated to yet another night of some explosive action. Among them will be Clayton Carpenter vs Juancamilo Ronderos in a flyweight bout in the prelims.
Whilst Cory Sandhagen and Marlon Vera were meant to headline the event, due to injuries, we will now see Jessica Andrade vs Erin Blanchfield headline the event instead. Kicking us off, we will see a couple of young guns start the night for us. Although it’s only a fight in the preliminary card, expect it to be a good start to the event.
As for our fighters, we have Clayton Carpenter, who is set to make his UFC debut. Capping off a splendid performance at Dana White’s Contender Series in August last year with a win, Clayton has finally got his big move. Facing him, we have the Colombian, Ronderos, who struggled to make an impact in his debut last time around.
Coming in on short notice, Ronderos was unable to cope with flyweight veteran, David Davorik. Whilst many felt that it was a harsh fight for him, considering the situation, we can say that this will be his true debut in the UFC. Since he wasn’t able to show anything last time, it will be interesting to see what he can truly do.

Carpenter vs Ronderos: Fight Breakdown
For the most part, Carpenter looks like a bright prospect and will look to replicate the success of his predecessors, which includes Jack Della Madelena. The 26-year-old American is a well-rounded fighter with swift movement and a good level of grappling. His performance against Edgar Chairez showed us the tremendous potential he has.
On the other hand, Ronderos, a relatively unknown quantity, will hope to showcase more than what he did last time around. Coming off a one-month suspension, he is yet to show what he can do, Ronderos can use it to his advantage and try to catch Carpenter off guard. From what we know, “100” will likely try to grapple and take the fight to the ground. Although it may not do much for him, it will certainly give him a chance in the fight.

However, on the feet, “Concrete” Carpenter is far and away the better fighter and will look to piece up Juancamilo at every chance. Should Ronderos shoot and try to stall the fight, Clayton is expected to be the better and stronger fighter in the clinch and should be able to win a decision at the very least.
