OSP pays tribute to Chadwick Boseman

Ovince Saint Preux put up a spectacular performance against Alonzo Minefield in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 9 as he picked up a brutal KO win over the rising contender. The UFC veteran looked solid from the start of the round and landed several significant strikes before landing the lethal left which took Minefield down. The former title contender dedicated his performance to late actor Chadwick Boseman as he folded his hands for the Wakanda Forever salute to pay homage to the Black Panther actor who died last month due to cancer.

Ovince Saint Preux was coming off a split decision loss to Ben Rothwell in his heavyweight debut. Saint Preux dropped down to light heavyweight again and showed absolute dominance inside the octagon. With this performance, Ovincce Saint Preux has made it to the history books with four Performance of the Night bonuses to his name at the light-heavyweight division.

Ovince Saint Preux also tied Glover Texeira for most finishes at the light-heavyweight division with 11. He also tied with former Champion Rashad Evans with 13 victories at the division. This fight marked Saint Preux‘s second back to back POTY bonus at the light-heavyweight. He is currently on a two-fight win-streak, and with a big win over Minefield, could look to run for gold for one last time.

What’s next for Aonzo Menifield after brutal KO loss against Ovince Saint Preux?

Alonzo Menifield

Alonzo Menifield was coming off a unanimous decision loss to Devin Clark in his fight. Menifield put up an impressive performance at Dana White Contender Series to earn his contract. Soon after that, he picked up back to back victories including the brutal KO win against Paul Craig in June last year. However, despite putting up an incredible performance against Devin Clark, Menifield did not look at his absolute best. Something similar happened in this fight as well, with Menifield unable to connect on many occasions.

Ovince Saint Preux

UFC veteran Ovince Saint Preux looked at is absolute best and completely dominated Menifiend on the feet. While there were some moments from Menifield, the brutal left from Saint Preux sent him crashing down on the canvas for the first KO loss of his MMA career.
