Carlston Harris lost against Shavkat Rakhmonov via a first-round knockout. The welterweight fight took place at UFC Vegas 47. Following a disappointing performance, Harris sent a message to his fans via Twitter.
Coming to this fight, Carlston was on a five-fight win streak including two wins inside the UFC. The Guyanese fighter now stands at a record of 17-5 after the loss against Shavkat Rakhmonov.
The fight started with Harris getting aggressive and with his feet. But, Rakhmonov was fast enough to counter with a better attack. Soon after Harris started trying to take him down. However, Rakhmonov showed good TD defense and got separated to keep the fight in feet.
He then suddenly launched a spectacular spinning wheel kick which put Harris down on the ground. Rakhnomov didn’t lose the chance to capitalize on it and started throwing vicious punches to KO Harris.

Addressing his defeat, Carlston said via Twitter: “Things didn’t work out… but I am okay man. This is a fighting game, sometimes you win sometimes you learn. Tonight, it wasn’t my night… not taking anything away from my opponent. It was just another bad day at work for me. But, I am okay man.”
Carlston believes that either you win a fight or learn from the loss. It is certainly his learning curve and he is ready for that. However, he thanked all his fans for the love and support they have shown him throughout the lead-up to the fight. He further said that he will be going back to the gym as soon as he reaches home.

Tomorrow I will be back at my home and get back to the gym. Sunday to Sunday grinding again, nothing to change” he added further.
Shavat on the other hand is now 15-0 with 15 finishes. With this spinning wheel kick KO against Carlston, he is now three on three inside the octagon. Rakhmonov has shown some true potential and might be the first fighter from Kazakhstan to win the title as well.
