UFC power couple Brian Ortega and Tracy Cortez always left fans in awe whenever they appeared together, so it wasn’t surprising when they announced their breakup; it left a lot of fans shocked and wondering.
The photos that Ortega shared with Cortez, which have since been deleted from his Instagram, showed Tracy Cortez to be extremely close with Ortega’s family. After all, the couple were engaged and planning to get married. T-City even got Tracy’s name tattooed on his lips, who changed her name on Instagram to Tracy R. Ortega. So what happened? Why did Brian Ortega and Tracy Cortez break up? Let’s take a look.
Brian Ortega decided to break up with Tracy Cortez
Ortega and Cortez began dating sometime in 2020. The rumors of their breakup started floating around in January 2023 after more than three years of dating. While Tracy Cortex confirmed the rumors of an engagement, the duo never got married.
It was far from a peaceful exit from each other’s life. On the contrary, the breakup turned ugly on various occasions, shades of which came in the form of verbal rants on social media.
Cortez shared she was depressed during her camp for the Amanda Ribas fight in December 2022. This was right around the time that reports of Cortez and Ortega drifting apart started doing rounds on the internet.
UFC fans also spared no chance at bashing Brian Ortega for breaking up with fan-favorite Tracy Cortez, after her photo with Paulo Costa went viral on the internet.

Ortega mentioned the breakup with Tracy Cortez as his decision, even going to the length to say it was a “complete pass,” and he did not fumble the bag with Cortez.
“Everyone out here talking bout I fumbled. Y’all must not know the rules of the game. When you drop the ball on accident that’s a fumble, but when you throw it away on purpose. That’s called a complete pass. Top G sh*t!” Ortega tweeted.
