The match between the 3rd seed player Raducanu and the 6th seeded Marta began for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament. Emma, who has such a great US Open came in with high hopes. Though things did not go well for the player. As the match started, it was Marta who took the charge in the first set.

The Ukrainian player hardly gave the young sensation any chances and won the opening set pretty comfortably with a scoreline of 6-2. The second set started and this time the champ could have turned things around in her favor. But Marta was simply too good for her this time as she won the set again and this time with a greater margin of 6-1.

During the match, the young gun hit 41 unforced errors which was simply too much. Marta, the 19-year-old player displayed a consistent form from the start till the very end. She will now face Simona Halep in the semi-finals who has a home advantage. The other semifinal will feature the second seed Anett Kontaveit in action against Rebeca Peterson of Sweden.

It will be interesting to see which player makes his way into the finals and lifts the trophy.
