Simone Biles has yet again proved that she is a dynamic gymnast. On 4th October, she led Team USA to its phenomenal seventh Artistic Gymnastics World Championship title in Antwerp. What makes this victory even more memorable is that Biles came back this summer after her 2-year break from the sport that she loves.
She took a mental health break after the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Biles mentioned how she felt a little more nervous while doing gymnastics. It looks like she knew what she needed to come back stronger. In the World Championships 2023, everyone witnessed a better version of her as she successfully landed on the Yurchenko double pike.

Notably, Biles is the first woman to make use of this brilliant skill and it will be named and remembered as ‘Biles II’ in the rule book of Gymnast. Interestingly, this is not the first time that this is happening, in fact, this is the fifth time for the star. Furthermore, the 20x world championship gold medal winner left fans stunned by scoring a staggering score of 15.166 in the floor routine.
She made her debut in 2007 by competing as a level 8 gymnast. However, her interest goes back to when she was merely six years old. It was during a field trip to Bannon’s Gymnastix that she discovered her interest and ended up joining there for 11 years. This is where she garnered the skills that have made her renowned worldwide.
Simone Biles won her first championship at the same venue in 2013

In her own words, “I feel like I’m thinking a little bit more about my gymnastics. It’s not so carefree”. This gave fans a clear picture of the level of maturity that Biles has. Furthermore, she also emphasized how every crowned world champion tends to make one feel different.
