Jabari after being drafted 3rd overall had a message for the fans he will be playing for. Looking straight at the camera, Smith had some serious words of commitment for his team.
Jabari Smith told the Houston Rockets fans that he is here to win
During his post-draft interview, Smith was asked to tell the Rockets fans what they are getting. “You’ve got a hard worker, you’ve got somebody who’s gonna come in there with a chip on their shoulder, somebody who doesn’t like to lose, somebody who doesn’t care about the stats, somebody who only cares about the W”, said Jabari as he went on to explain that he is there to win and will happily serve whatever role he has to in order to win.
It also seemed like Jabari did not approve of Paolo Banchero and Chet Holmgren being drafted before him.
Jabari is one of the best shooters in this year’s draft class. Now, he has found himself on a team full of amazing young players who are already showing glimpses of greatness.
Smith has a lot of untapped potentials and can score from anywhere on the floor. He is a big guy standing around 6-10 and 220lbs, when you combine that with his ability to shoot you have yourself a proper unicorn big man.
His sheer size and athleticism give him all the right tools to be a terrific defender. The newest member of the Houston Rocket squad can very soon develop into a two-way star if they do a good job at developing him.
