Francis Ngannou reigned supreme as he unified the heavyweight championship with a unanimous decision victory over Ciryl Gane to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world here inside Honda Center in the main event of UFC 270. In the co-main event, belts changed hands against as Deiveson Figueiredo reclaimed the flyweight gold with a unanimous decision victory over Brandon Moreno to become a two-time Flyweight champion of the world.
UFC 270 was a huge success, with a record gate of $5 million. Moreover, it broke the record for the highest gate at this arena, beating the previous record-holder, Rolling Stones. UFC President Dana White made the UFC PPV more controversial after he decided to remain absent from the post-fight press conference. He was present during the pre-fight press conference. Additionally, the presence of Mike Tyson, Nate Diaz, Brian Ortega, among several others added more charm to the event, with both the title fights living up to their expectations.
While there were several key moments outside of the Octagon that made this UFC PPV a talking point among fight fans, it goes without saying, there were many key moments inside the Octagon too. With some incredible action inside the cage, the main event and co-main event gave way to some of the craziest moments in the UFC.
Francis Ngannou power slams Ciryl Gane at UFC 270
It wasn’t just the fans, Ngannou promoted this fight as a “KO inside two rounds.” The heavyweight champion did talk about the wrestling advantage in the lead-up to the fight. Regardless, fans were left surprised after the fiercest puncher in the game showed a great display of wrestling to dominate an efficient striker in the form of Ciryl Gane. There was a moment in the fight where Ngannou manages to grab Gane’s front kick and use it to power slam him on the canvas.
Moreover, he was also able to execute a double leg for a successful takedown. The sequence received loud pops from the audience and huge praise from Daniel Cormier who was sitting at the commentator’s table. Take a look.

Brandon Moreno’s leg went limb as Deiveson Figueiredo landed a clean right hand on the Mexican. There’s no denying the toughness of the Mexican fighter, however, the visual it left for fight fans definitely speaks volumes about Figueiredo’s power.

Needless to say, the ending sequence of the fight reminded every fight fan of Max Holloway, as both Moreno and Figueiredo accepted to exchange in the middle of the Octagon. In what was a five-round war, both the fighters who looked seemingly confident that they had won the fight, went all-in as the full-house in Honda Center erupted into cheers and applause.
