Nate Diaz’s protege Chris Avila took on Jon Kennedy in the main event of the four-fight card that saw some exciting match-ups. Formerly a welterweight contender, Chris Avila moved to the middleweight division to take on Jon Kennedy. As for Kennedy, he is a seasoned veteran in the regional circuit, with a lackluster record of 9 wins and 32 losses.

Needless to say, Chris Avila was the favorite going into the fight, and he did just that as he picked up the stoppage win in the very first round to get his hand raised. Present in the building was Stockton’s very own Nate Diaz, who was in the corner of Avila. The presence of Nate Diaz certainly brought a lot of attention to North Iowa Fights 11, with fight fans flocking in number to watch the Stockton Native.
What’s next for Nate Diaz?
Nate Diaz last competed inside the Octagon in a five-round war with top-ranked welterweight contender Leon Edwards back at UFC 263. There are a lot of exciting options for Nate Diaz who will look at nothing but to put on a show once again.
Gilbert Burns has been calling out the Stockton native for quite some time now, however, from the looks of it, it doesn’t look like Diaz is interested in fighting Gilbert Burns. The other options include a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor, who is currently on a two-fight losing streak and will look to do nothing but jump back with a win in style.
A rematch with Jorge Masvidal is also on the cards considering how the BMF title fight ended back at UFC 244. Diaz has expressed his interest in a title fight with Kamaru Usman, however, it looks like that is not an option considering Leon Edwards is right up there for a title shot and is expected to fight the winner of Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington set to take place at UFC 268.
