Rafael Nadal is yet to give his confirmation for the Wimbledon which is just a few weeks away. He has been struggling with a foot injury for a very long time and isn’t sure if he is fit to play the grass season. While the Spaniard has been in good form, the foot injury has become a major roadblock for him.
In a recent TV discussion, former tennis star Andy Roddick talked about Nadal’s chances of winning the Wimbledon. As per Roddick, Nadal will be one of the favorites to win the tournament if he decides to participate in it.

Moreover, Roddick said, “Is he going to be able to play well on the grass? When he is there, he is very good on grass. We always forget that he has won Wimbledon twice, right?” Out of the four grand slams, Nadal has been the least successful at the Wimbledon.
Roddick and Nadal have played each other only four times in their career. In all four meetings, Nadal managed to get the better of Roddick. During his career, Roddick reached four grand slam finals but lost all of them to Roger Federer.
Can Rafael Nadal win Wimbledon 2022?
2022 has been one of the best seasons for Rafael Nadal so far. He has won both the Australian Open and the French Open so far. However, his victories have come at a time when he is personally struggling with a chronic foot injury.
During the French Open, Nadal was constantly taking injections to treat his foot injury. Despite the injury, Nadal managed to lift his 14th French Open and his 22nd overall. However, after the French Open, Nadal made it very clear that he would not participate in Wimbledon if he is not fit enough.
Winning a grand slam while dealing with an injury only shows the mental toughness of Nadal. A Rafael Nadal struggling with an injury is still better than most of the top players. His latest French Open title is a testimony to that statement.
If Nadal decides to compete in the Wimbledon, there is no doubt he can win it. It will be tough considering Djokovic’s presence but Nadal has never backed down from a challenge.
