Manchester United Star Cristiano Ronaldo is yet again stealing the spotlight in global media, but this time for different reasons.
The Portuguese has been involved in some controversy this weekend following his outburst after the disappointing result of his side against “The Toffees”.
The 37-year-old was involved in the incident where he was recorded smashing a supporters mobile phone while venting out his post match frustrations.
This take of the Portuguese has not been received well by the fans all over the internet, which therefore resulted in him posting an apology through his Instagram.
Here’s what he had to say :
“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient, and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game.”
“I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship.”

With the champions league qualification on the ropes and already being without a silverware this season, the controversy is not helping Cristiano’s reputation as of now.
What we now have to see is where his future resides with the end of this current campaign.
Victim’s mum slams the apology of Cristiano Ronaldo
Looks like not everyone were a fan of Cristiano’s apology following his outburst this weekend.
United superstar took his socials to convey his disappointment against his own actions where he smashed the young Everton supporter’s phone.
Now Sarah kelly, the mother of 14-year-old fan has came forward and blasted Ronaldo’s apology.
Speaking to Telegraph Sport she mentioned :
The apology or lack of apology was what angered me even more.
“I thought, ‘How rude – you are telling everybody you have apologised and you haven’t’. OK, you have put it out to social media but… you should be apologising to my son.
“He [Ronaldo] had several hours to ponder on it. He should have found out our contact details… been private, said he had spoken to us and released something. I would have been happy with that.
My take is no matter how big of a superstar you are, actions done by the Portuguese should not be justified at all.
And he should’ve handled the situation in somewhat professional manner.
But by saying this, him publicly aplogizing and inviting the boy to a United’s game was done in a professional way.
To which i feel it should’ve been handled in a nicer way by the victim’s mum.
With Red Devils poor run of form and their main superstar in controversy.
United’s fans will be hoping to see sunny days in near future.
