5 World Champions Vince McMahon Has Fired From the WWE

WWE under Vince McMahon's leadership received a lot of criticism for their handling of talents as several superstars were released without any proper explanation.

Several big names were also not able to survive Vince's firing spree as several former and future World champions were let go by the company as part of budget cuts.

The following list looks at some of the World Champions that were released by Vincent Kennedy McMahon from their WWE contracts.

Kurt Angle: Kurt Angle was released in 2006 due to health reasons. The Olympic gold medalist was a 5-time world champion before his release. He later moved to TNA and had a successful career there.

Daniel Bryan: Daniel Bryan was released in 2010 after he choked WWE announcer Justin Roberts with a tie. He was later re-hired after three months and he went on to win the World Championship 5 times.

Drew McIntyre: Drew McIntyre was released in 2014 due to attitude problems. He made his return in 2017 and won the WWE championship in the main event of Wrestlemania by beating Brock Lesnar in 2020.

CM Punk: CM Punk was fired by the WWE in 2014 on his wedding day after he refused to show up to work. The straight edge superstar is a 5 time world champion in the WWE.

Bray Wyatt: Bray Wyatt was surprisingly released by the WWE in 2021. Wyatt is a two time World champion in the company. He recently returned to the WWE at Extreme Rules.
