Charles Oliveira Loses His Title After Missing Weight By 0.5 LBs, New Rules Set For UFC 274

There is a lot of confusion among the fans after Charles Oliveira missed weight for UFC 274.

Charles Oliveira weighed in at 155.5 lbs on the first attempt and was given 1 hr to make the championship weight(155lbs).

However, Oliveira failed to lose more weight and again weighed in at 155.5 lbs.

After the botched weight cut, UFC announced that Charles Oliveria will lose his lightweight title.

The fight between Oliveria and Gaethje is still on and it will be for the vacant lightweight title.

If Justin Gaethje wins he will be the new lightweight champion.

But, Charles Oliveria will not be walking out of UFC 274 as the lightweight champion irrespective of the fight outcome.

This is the first time UFC has stripped a champion for missing weight even if he is ready to fight as scheduled.

Charles Oliveira will certainly be under pressure at UFC 274 after all the drama.

However, it will still be a fun matchup between two of the elite lightweights in the world.
