UFC had to let go Ares FC heavyweight champion Slim Trabelsi after one day of signing his contract with the UFC.

Slim Trabelsi is a heavyweight fighter out of Tunisia and has an MMA record five wins and zero losses

Trabelsi had to be released from the UFC due to contract-related issues with the promoter and manager Fernand Lopez.

"I trusted him and I signed the contract and when UFC called me, he tried to block me with the Ares contract." Trabelsi talked about Lopez.

Fernand Lopez, former coach of Francis Nagnnou and current coach of Ciryl Gane, manages the fighters at Ares FC.

Trabelsi was expected to replace Hamdy Abdelwahab who withdrew from his fight against Parker Porter in the UFC 280.

Ares Fighting Championship is an MMA league based in France. The league has targets to be bigger than One FC and Bellator.
