Did WWE Steal CM Punk’s Iconic Theme Song? What Really Happened?

Fans in attendance were in shock when WWE played CM Punk’s theme song during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw.

The song “Cult of Personality” by Living Color was played during an NBC commercial and it had fans thinking for a few seconds.

CM Punk who still uses the song as his AEW entrance theme doesn’t own the song and WWE has every right to play the song.

The straight-edge superstar left the WWE following a falling out with McMahon and co back in 2014 and has never been inside a WWE ring after that.

He briefly made an appearance in a backstage role in the WWE back in 2019 as an expert on a talk show for Fox channel.

Punk made his All Elite Wrestling return in the year 2021 and he is a two-time AEW World Heavyweight Champion in the Tony Khan-led promotion.

Circled Dot

Punk currently is suspended after all the drama that unfolded backstage after the ALL OUT pay-per-view. He also suffered an injury which forced him to vacate his World title.

CM Punk returning to a WWE ring seems to be very unlikely at this stage but fans have now taken to social media to share the clip of Punk’s music being played on Raw.
