WWE legend John Bradshaw Layfield quit the WWE back in 2005 after losing the Intercontinental championship to Rey Mysterio in just 22 seconds at Wrestlemania.

On the WWE Network special show Table for 3, Layfield admitted that he is proud to end his career by putting over the legendary superstar.

JBL was suffering from a serious back injury during his final reign as the intercontinental champion. Post-match he took the microphone and said he was quitting.

On the table for 3 episodes alongside Rey Mysterio and Booker T, JBL spoke about how WWE legend Vader lost JBL unselfishly back in the day and he wanted to do the same to someone else.

Rey Mysterio then appreciated the former APA member for putting him over at the biggest stage of them all in professional wrestling.

JBL also said that he's honored to end his career by facing a pro wrestling legend like Rey Mysterio in his final match.

JBL is currently on Raw in a non-wrestling role as the manager of former Money in the Bank winner Baron Corbin.

Mysterio on the other hand is still an active competitor and he recently won the tag team championship alongside his son Dominik. Rey is currently on Smackdown after his son turned on him.
