Daniel Cormier was thrilled after witnessing one of the greatest comebacks in UFC history in Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman 2 at UFC 278.
Everyone is already talking about the trilogy between Usman and Edwards with Dana White aiming to book the fight in the Wmbley arena, England.
And that makes Daniel Cormier concerned for Khamzat Chimaev, who takes on Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC 278.
DC believes Khamzat Chimaev might have to fight one more time after the Diaz fight before he gets the title shot against Usman vs Edwards 3 winner.
"He was the biggest loser in the Usman vs Leon situation. Because he was in line, all he has to do is get past Diaz to fight for the championship. But, with Leon winning now we have a trilogy."
Khamzat Chimaev is a huge favorite to beat Nate Diaz at UFC 279. UFC's plan to push Chimaev as the next big thing in the division might get ruined if Diaz pulls out another upset win.
However, even if Chimaev wins he will have to wait for a long time in order to fight for the title. And it makes sense if UFC books Chimaev against another top welterweight after UFC 279.
And it's very unlikely that Khamzat Chimaev will chose to sit out and wait for his title shot. So fans should expect Chimaev to get back in action again before he fights for the title.
Henry Cejudo jinxed Kamaru Usman's perfect fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 278 but fans are appreciating his fight IQ.
