Will Smith played the role of Richard Williams, the father of Serena and Venus, in his biopic, "King Richard". The film was based on his life and was influenced by his tennis career.

The film received international recognition after being nominated for an Oscar. The famous slap event involving Will Smith and comedian Chris Rock caused everything to fall apart.

The Oscars team effectively banned him from the Academy Awards. The Oscars employed a crisis management team at this year's ceremony to ensure that a similar incident wouldn't occur again.

On Academy Award night, host Jimmy Kimmel roasted Will Smith in his monologue. He begins saying, "If anyone performs any act of violence, he'll be awarded the best actor."

He said, "There's a crisis team in place, so if anything unpredictable or violent happens during the ceremony, just do it like last time, nothing."

Jimmy said, "Just sit there and do nothing. Maybe give the assailant a hug. If you get mad at any joke and decide to come up here then you have to get past of heavyweight champ, Adonis Creed."

He mentioned Michelle Yeoh, Pedro Pascal, Andrew Garfield and Steven Spielberg, to roast Smith. He said, "You have to get past Michelle, the Mandalorian, Spider Man and the Fable Man to get to me."

However, Smith did express his regrets to Chris Rock, "My behaviour at the Academy Awards last night was disgraceful.  I want to publicly apologize to you. I was out of line."
