Naomi Osaka's Custom Made Butterfly Shoes in Australian Open 2022

Last year, while winning her most recent Grand Slam, Naomi Osaka had an on-court encounter with a butterfly. Since then, the butterfly has become something of an unofficial good-luck charm for tennis star.

Since a second butterfly would not join Naomi on the court at this year's AO 2022 tournament, she wore custom Nike butterfly shoes during the opening match of the Australian Open.

The shoes seem to be working for Osaka in the luck sector, as she took down Colombia's Camila Osorio 6-3, 6-3 in her 2022 Australian Open debut. The sneakers she’s wearing are a customised NikeCourt Air Zoom GP Turbo hardcourt tennis shoes

The orange colorway custom shoes with the butterfly design worn by Naomi Osaka for her first-round match will not be available for general purchase.

"Naomi's Oz footwear is a celebration of the moment the butterfly visited her on-court during the tournament last year," Said a Nike Representative.

As Naomi Osaka downed the American Madison Brengle to advance to the third round, she was wearing the same custom shoes but with a blue base this time around which would be open for the public to buy

Her Lucky shoes didn’t provide her with enough luck since she faced a shocker exit in the Round 3 of the Australian Open

We hope that Naomi Osaka has a better tournament at the Rolland Garros where she would again be sporting the Butterfly Shoes.
