Naomi Osaka is currently not having one of her best periods on and off the court.
Osaka was knocked out in the first round of the French Open 2022 by Amanda Anisimova.
Osaka said that she is disappointed by her efforts as she thought she would do great in the French Open.
Recently Wimbledon announced that they are taking ranking points out of the scene.
During the post-match press conference, Osaka was asked about the upcoming Wimbledon.
Osaka mentioned that she is not sure if she would participate in the Wimbledon.
Osaka said, “I’m someone who gets motivated by the idea of rising in the rankings. The intention of this measure was good, but the execution is all over the place.”
Osaka added by saying this decision affects her mentality toward playing on grass.
The Japanese star expects more “back and forths” regarding this situation.
Osaka will wait and take the call on whether to play or not in a few weeks' time.
