Not so long ago mixed martial artists from the United States were dominating opponents in UFC with multiple champions in various weight classes.

Former champions such as Jon Jones, Stipe Miocic, Daniel Cormier, Demetrious Johnson, and Henry Cejudo were dominant during their title reign.

However, in 2022, there are only two UFC champions who represent The United States, Aljamain Sterling(bantamweight champion) and Carla Esparza(Women's Strawweight champion).

Israel Adesanya and Francis Ngannou are the two African-born champions in UFC following the KO loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 278.

There are a few fighters from the USA who might get their hands on the UFC title including the likes of TJ Dillashaw, Rose Namajunas, Jon Jones, and so on.
