Rose Namajunas Blames Ronda Rousey Comparisons for Her Loss Against Carla Esparza in the First Fight

Rose Namajunas is one of the fiercest fighters today. But even the Thug had her share of setbacks, back in the day.

Namajunas was compared to Ronda Rousey on The Ultimate Fighter, by the UFC president Dana White.

"She's a mean, nasty individual when she competes and she can be the next Ronda Rousey."

But it was a little too late before Namajunas realised that she has let all the appraisal to her head- she lost the finale bout to Carla Esparza.

Namajunas later admitted- "Being called the next Ronda Rousey, you don't think anyone is on your level, you know?"

Ronda Rousey is regarded as one of the pioneers of the mainstream women's MMA. She has a MMA record of 12-2-0, before retiring and making her debut in WWE, back in 2018.

Rousey was also inducted in the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.

The former UFC women's Bantamweight champion also shared a tweet praising Namajunas's title fight against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
