Tennis Players Devastated With The Ongoing Crisis Between Russia And Ukraine

Soon after Vladimir Putin declared his intentions to invade Ukraine and wage war, a lot of tennis players joined hands to oppose this move.

Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev has shown solidarity with Ukraine and condemned the current attacks as “terrible”.

The world No 5 shared multiple posts on his Instagram story showing support for Ukraine and later spoke on the importance of peace after his win over Mackenzie McDonald in the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships.

Rublev shared two Instagram posts to his story to voice his support for Ukraine.

Multiple Ukrainian tennis players including Elina Svitolina and Alexandr Dolgopolov have already taken to social media to call on support for their country.

“Thinking of all the Ukrainian tennis players and their families tonight. Also the people of Ukraine”, Rennae Stubbs tweeted.

Russian Tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova spoke out against the "political motives" of the invasion in Ukraine and then later tweeted that she “was in fear”.

The Ukraininan, Elina Svitolina had said that she would rather withdraw from the Mexican tournament then play the Russian Opponent.
