According to reports, Triple H has huge plans for the current Intercontinental champion Gunther who Vince McMahon wanted to bury.
WrestleVotes also claims that McMahon was unhappy with Gunther after the July 4th edition of Raw where he faced off against R-Truth.
Vince was then forced to retire after two weeks and Triple H took over. Gunther has had great success since the Game took over as he's yet to be pinned or submitted.
Gunther's five star rated match against Sheamus at the Clash at the Castle premium live event also helped him cement his place on the top of the card under Triple H.
The Austrian star has been the Intercontinental champion for over four months and he recently defeated WWE veteran Rey Mysterio for the championship.
Gunther is set to defend his championship next against the winner of the ongoing Smackdown World Cup tournament.
