UFC suffers a major blow weeks before UFC 282 as Jiri Prochazka gets injured and vacates the light heavyweight title.

Jiri Prochazka was scheduled to take on the former UFC light heavyweight champion, Glover Teixeira in the main event.

Fans were excited for this title fight as the first encounter between the two became one of the greatest UFC titles fights.

However, Jiri Prochazka suffered a career threatening injury. Dana White has given an update on Prochazka's injury.

"This is the worst shoulder injury the doctors have seen in UFC history. It's really f**king bad. His shoulder is very, very bad. He's going to have serious surgery that will require extensive rehab."

Unfortunately, Glover Teixeira was out of the title picture after Jiri's exit from the UFC 282 main event.

And now, the former light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz will fight Magomed Ankalaev for the light heavyweight title at UFC 282.

Magomed Ankalaev beat Anthony Smith in his last fight while Jan Blachowicz beat Aleksander Rakic to earn this title shot.
