Vince McMahon was the biggest stakeholder in WWE for decades, but that’s no longer the case now. In fact, Mr. McMahon’s son, Shane McMahon, or his daughter, Stephanie McMahon are also not members of the company, as the whole creative leadership has been taken over by the one and only Triple H.
While Stephanie has still been seen on WWE TV in recent months, the case isn’t the same for Shane, as the former SmackDown executive hasn’t been seen in the promotion for a long time. Due to his absence from the company, there has been a lot of discussion around his future in the industry, and fans wonder if Vince McMahon’s son joining AEW is a possibility for the pro wrestling figure.
In fact, in a recent appearance on the Grilling JR Podcast, industry veteran Jim Ross also talked about the case where Shane McMahon could end up joining All Elite Wrestling. The legend shared his thoughts about this possibility and stated that having Vince‘s son in the Tony Khan-led promotion could be an extraordinary move, depending on how it was positioned and introduced by AEW.
What makes this a scenario that might turn into reality is that Tony Khan talked about the possibility of signing Shane in 2022, when the WWE veteran was fired from the WWE. With the state of the professional wrestling world being truly unpredictable, it is possible that Shane McMahon might end up joining the Jacksonville-based promotion.
AEW might reach the heights of success under Shane McMahon
Having Shane McMahon onboard would be an achievement for All Elite Wrestling, but the next question would surely be his usage in the company. It’s obvious that Shane would most probably sign as a non-wrestler, and it leaves a high chance that he might join the organization as a member of the leadership group in the Tony Khan-led promotion.
If that ends up being the reality, AEW might reach the heights of success under Shane McMahon, as his creative inputs could benefit them a lot. Also, as Shane O’Mac has a lot of experience working in a similar role on SmackDown, he could surely use it to help All Elite Wrestling boost up their ticket sales and poor ratings to once again being a top-tier name among pro wrestling promotions.
Shane McMahon once planned to start his own MMA promotion
While Shane O’Mac joining AEW could be historic, fans are a bit uncertain about it, as they don’t really know if Vince McMahon’s son would be open to joining a new promotion. Moreover, the veteran hasn’t really talked about this scenario or the idea of starting a wrestling company of his own in any interviews. But, as per sources, Shane McMahon once planned to start his own MMA promotion.
This was revealed by none other than former WWE writer Court Bauer, as he shared that there were conversations that would have seen Shane running an MMA company. But, as the outcome of fights in mixed martial arts cannot be determined like pro wrestling, there were hesitations, and that’s why this idea didn’t become a reality.
This shows that Shane McMahon would probably be open to newer experiments, and joining AEW could be one such move. As the wrestling world would probably go crazy witnessing Shane O’Mac in All Elite Wrestling, it remains to be seen if this ends up becoming the reality of Shane McMahon’s professional career in the near future or not.
