Rumors about a mysterious Taylor Swift curse have been keeping NBA fans intrigued for a while now. As fans will be aware, we are in the final stages of the playoffs as Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat are matched up against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
Both of these teams managed to eliminate the best contenders from their respective conferences in order to make it to the NBA Finals. While the postseason has been going on, this unexplainable curse seems to have been growing stronger. Let us take a closer look at it and how it could potentially impact the 2023 NBA Finals.
Taylor Swift will be performing in Denver during Game 5 of the 2023 NBA Finals
Although this might just be a weird string of coincidences, bad luck has followed all the home teams after the popular singer visited their cities as a part of her Eras tours. To those who do not know, Swift has been moving across the country from March 17th and will continue to do so all the way until August 9th.

We saw this curse first take effect against the Atlanta Hawks in their first-round matchup against the Boston Celtics. They ended up losing Game 6 at home and were eliminated from the postseason. Some theorized that her tour resuming from Atlanta during the time was a mere coincidence.
The same people were stumped when the 76ers blew a 3-2 lead to the Celtics in the second round. Her tour dates aligned with the game and the Philadelphia 76ers also ended up falling victim to the curse. The Celtics were also eliminated by the Heat soon after her tour took her close to Boston.
In any case, we know that Swift is expected to be in Denver on the 14th and 15th of June. This is eerily close to Game 5 of the NBA Finals and could jynx the Nuggets. In fact, this curse could also linger on and hurt their chances in a potential Game 7.

That would undoubtedly be the hope for Miami Heat fans. Their team is looking to make history by becoming the only 8th seed in NBA history to win the championship. They will certainly need a curse on the favored Nuggets, along with all the luck they can get, in order to win this series.
