Former WWE Superstar Naomi (real-life Trinity Fatu) has enthralled fans with her in-ring performances for several years now. After debuting as one of Brodus Clay’s dance partners, the former WWE superstar made a name for herself with her personality and in-ring skills. This led to her winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship twice and also claiming the Women’s Tag Team Title.
It was during her reign with the tag team title that problems arose between her, Sasha Banks, and WWE. It resulted in the duo reportedly relinquishing their title and walking out of an episode of RAW in May last year. Since then, Banks has landed herself in New Japan Pro-Wrestling under the moniker of Mercedes Mone. However, Trinity Fatu kept herself away from the ring.

This changed for the former SmackDown Women’s Champion when she debuted for IMPACT Wrestling on the April 28 tapings of the show, which eventually aired on May 4. In IMPACT, the former Naomi has changed her moniker to Trinity and does not use her last name. During a promo segment, Trinity confronted current Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo while also making clear her intentions to vie for the title. The two women were later joined by Jordynne Grace.
This is Trinity’s first wrestling appearance since her exit from WWE. Fans are excited about the debut of the decorated star, and it seems that she intends to be a mainstay on IMPACT for the foreseeable future.
What did Naomi say about her WWE exit?
Following her debut in IMPACT Wrestling, speculation was rife on whether Naomi would open up about her exit from WWE. While many thought that she would be bitter about her former workplace, that was far from the case.
During an interview with Forbes, the former women’s champion asserted that she was still in “love” with WWE. She added that the company has helped her grow into the superstar she is today and that she could never be mad or bitter about the promotion.

“I don’t ever wanna come off as angry, as bitter, as mad. I don’t feel any of that, you know? I mean, it was just a bad situation, crazy, crazy, crazy situation with a lot of layers to it. But I love WWE. I’m thankful for all the amazing years that I’ve been there, what they’ve given me, what they’ve given to my family, what career I’ve had. I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing now without that foundation and what I’ve been able to do with them and being there,” said Trinity.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion also hoped that her exit would eventually yield good results. It has also emerged that her friend Mercedes Mone was in attendance during her IMPACT debut, along with AEW star CM Punk. It remains to be seen whether Naomi will be able to add another feather to her cap by winning the Knockouts World Title by dethroning Purrazzo.
