The Miami Heat have been one of the biggest surprises this NBA postseason. To the shock of many, the 8th-seeded Heat is on the verge of having knocked out two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and are one win away from eliminating the Boston Celtics and making the NBA Finals.
One could argue that the Heat have been considered underdogs this season for primarily two reasons. The first being that they finished the regular season with the 7th seed and ended up getting knocked down to the 8th spot by the Atlanta Hawks. Another is the fact that key players on the roster such as Gabe Vincent and Max Struss weren’t even drafted by teams when entering the league.
Nonetheless, all of the players on the roster have exceeded expectations in these playoffs. Although their season is still not done, fans should certainly want to know who are the current top 5 players for the Heat.
Is Jimmy Butler the clear-cut best player on the Miami Heat?
There is no denying that multiple incredible performances by Jimmy Butler are the reason why the Heat is in its current position. He proved to be the best player on the court, at least during the moments that counted, against the Bucks and Knicks. Jimmy eliminated them in 5 and 6 games respectively. He is looking to do the same against the Celtics in Game 6 tonight.
2- Bam Adebayo
The second-best player on the Heat is Bam Adebayo. He is undoubtedly the most physically imposing player on the roster. Bam is listed at 6’10 and is the focal defensive point for the team. His sheer athletic ability and presence earn him the spot as the second-best player on the Miami Heat
3- Gabe Vincent
Although Tyler Herro could make a claim for this spot, his injury should sideline him from these rankings at the moment. Vincent has played incredibly for the Heat in the playoffs. Vincent averaged 9.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists this season. He stepped up those numbers in this series against the Celtics. Prior to getting injured in Game 4, Gabe scored 29 points in Game 3.
He had 17 points in 28 minutes of action before the injury occurred in Game 4. Since he is still expected to play in Game 6, we have him in the third spot.
4-Caleb Martin
One of the more underrated players from this Roster, Martin has been performing consistently for the Heat in this series. Listed at 6’5 with impressive athleticism and shooting abilities, Caleb has put up double digits scoring performances every game of this series. His lowest game ended with him scoring 14 points. He scored 25 points in Game 2 against the Celtics.
It is hard to decide who deserves the 5th spot on the Heat. Duncan Robinson and Kyle Lowry have been playing well at streak but struggling quite often. Hopefully, the return of Tyler Herro will make things clearer on the best players for the Miami Heat.
