Song Yadong is one of the most highly touted prospects in the UFC’s bantamweight division. Having already taken on some of the biggest names in his division, the sky is the limit for Song. Whilst a lot has been made of his exploits inside the Octagon, little is known about his life outside it.
Previously, Song made his presence known in the division when he beat Bharat Kandare on his UFC debut in 2017. Since then, he has gone on to take on top names like Marlon Vera, Marlon Moraes, and Cory Sandhagen. Currently, Song is ranked #8 in the UFC’s bantamweight rankings and will look to continue his push to the top.
Notably, one of the biggest things going for Song is his support system and team. Training with UFC Hall of Famer Uriah Hall and Team Alpha Male, Song has become a much better fighter. However, another major form of support comes in the form of his wife and son. As such, he mentioned them after his win at UFC 265.
“I feel very excited, my wife and my son are here…yeah it’s the most important for me”. On the night, Song was able to win a split decision against Casey Kenney. At the time Song revealed for the first that he does in fact have a wife and a son. Moreover, they have both moved over to the United States permanently as well.
Who is Song Yadong’s wife?
For the most part, Song Yadong is a rather quiet and private individual and likes to keep his personal life out of the limelight. However, we know that he is a married man and has a son as well. According to sources, Song’s son is named Justin Manhattan Song and was born in 2018. Interestingly, the Chinese fighter revealed that since his son is born in the US, his son has American citizenship as well.
At the same time, very little is known about Song’s wife. From what we know, the “Kung Fu Kid” is very private and does not post any pictures of his wife or son. Despite that, there have been many rumors as to who his wife could be. According to numerous sources, Song’s wife is Daisy Yadong. Although many may not be aware, Daisy has been a constant supporter of Song and has been in attendance for many of his fights as well.
Moreover, the rumors suggest that Daisy is none other than Song’s translator who would accompany him to press conferences and post-fight interviews. Notably, following his win over Marlon Vera in 2020, his translator (supposedly Daisy) was seen running into the Octagon to embrace him as well. Further, she was also present during his post-fight interview after his victory over Marlon Moraes.
Whilst it is yet to be confirmed, most sources and fans believe that Daisy is in fact Song’s wife. Having been together for a long time, the couple has grown with each other’s support. In fact, Song’s English has improved drastically, and Daisy is likely the reason for that. As such, Daisy’s support has seen Song reach great heights and she will no doubt be cheering him on for his future fights.
