WWE has taken this allegation seriously, which can have dire consequences for the company that earned net revenue of $1.1 billion last year. The board investigation started in April, earlier this year, which helped in bringing out some old non-disclosure agreements. The former female employee has claimed that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis of misconduct.
The WWE board received a copy of the $3 million settlement on 12th June. WWE is cooperating to its full capacity and has claimed that McMahon’s relationship with the former employee was consensual. McMahon’s log-time attorney, Jerry McDevitt, stated that the former employee did not make any claim of misconduct. He also claimed that WWE did not pay anything when she departed from the company.
Vince McMahon has shown his willingness to move along the investigation. It is one of WWE’s biggest controversies since the WWE steroid scandal.
