Jorge Masvidal is so confident that he is going to win against Kamaru Usman at UFC 261, that he is already offering a trilogy fight to the Nigerian Nightmare. Masvidal appeared in a virtual QNA session and answered a lot of questions. “When I win the rematch we definitely will go for the trilogy,” Masvidal said. “I will not go down in history 1-1 with this individual. It’s just not going to happen.”
Masvidal will be going into the fight in his second attempt to grab the UFC’s welterweight champion. Masvidal and Usman shared the Octagon back at UFC 25, where the Nigerian Nightmare triumphed over Gamebred with a comfortable unanimous decision victory. Masvidal maintained that he needed more than six days’ notice to perform at his exceptional well against a fighter like Usman and rightfully so.

The Gamebred stepped in on six days’ notice after Burns had to pull out of the bout due to COVID. In what was a snoozefest to say nonetheless, Usman managed to defend his belt. It can be argued that Usman also deserves equal credit for accepting the fight against someone like Masvidal on such short notice.

Jorge Masvidal feels that a natural weight cut without having to starve the body of anything is going to play a huge role in the rematch against Kamaru Usman. For the first time in over a year, UFC will return with fans in full capacity inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jorge Masvidal has a lot of exciting match-ups should he triumph over Kamaru Usman. Masvidal could be looking at facing Stephen Thompson depending on the outcome of Wonderboy’s fight with Gilbert Burns later this year. Additionally, a “BMF” rematch against Nate Diaz is also a sound possibility.
However, to do all that, he will first have to pass the test of Kamaru Usman. Needless to say, Masvidal will be a tougher opponent this time with a full camp.
