WWE is progressing rapidly towards WWE SummerSlam 2023, as the biggest event of the summer comes live from Fort Field Stadium in Detroit on August 5, 2023. Till now, the company has done a tremendous job shaping up storylines, and the match card is looking like one of the best in recent times.
On the most recent episode of WWE RAW, the company continued its build towards the PLE as major matches were announced. Alongside announcements, fans also got New women’s tag team champions on the July 17th WWE RAW.
In a match that saw an injured Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan give their best, Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green defeated them to become the New tag team champions. The match saw Sonya and Chelsea Green win their first-ever Championship on the main roster, but a part of the WWE universe has shared different opinions on this win.
Some fans expressed that they still want Sonya Deville to form a team with former WWE Superstar, Mandy Rose. Fans want Mandy to drop her $15 Million FanTime content to rejoin Sonya Deville.
Sharing a video clip of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, a Twitter user wrote, “Glad Sonya got her moment with Chelsea Green, although I still wish you two were still a team.”
A fan writes “Yes, and you know Mandy I wish that it was you and Sonya who won the belts, because that was what you 2 wanted to do.” “Fire and Desire should have been first but this is just as amazing.” “Fire and desire should’ve had a run too.” “She Deserve This W with You Mandy,” another fan claims. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville’s relationship over the years
Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville first got together on the main roster when they were called up from NXT as a part of a trio called Absolution, which also consisted of Paige. As Paige retired from in-ring action in 2018, Mandy and Sonya started teaming together as “Fire and Desire.“
Both of them competed together for about three years before getting disbanded in March 2020. It was the result of Sonya betraying Mandy and finally accepting that she tried to create a conflict between Mandy and Otis.
Following this betrayal by Sonya, the two had a brief feud, which led to a Loser Leaves WWE match. After this match, Sonya took some time off from TV and returned to an authority role before continuing in-ring action in 2022. On the other hand, Mandy made a return to NXT and formed an alliance called Toxic Attraction.
Mandy Rose won the NXT women’s championship at Halloween Havoc and had a historic 413-day reign with the title. She lost her title to Roxanne Perez in December 2022 and later got released from the WWE contract due to her FanTime content.
Mandy Rose’s WWE departure worked as a blessing in disguise for her, as she reportedly earned over $1 million in about a month through FanTime. Mandy‘s earnings from FanTime have helped the former NXT women’s champion reach a net worth of $15 million. Looking at Rose’s earnings through her FanTime content, it will be interesting to see if she ever makes a return to professional wrestling.
