Maycee Barber was involved in an altercation with a civilian. She thought she could beat ‘The Future’ in a fight. The civilian likely did not know who she was up against. Barber is a UFC women’s flyweight fighter who is fresh off of a win in March.
Barber defeated Katlyn Cerminara via unanimous decision at UFC 299 on March 9, 2024. The #4 ranked flyweight fighter, however, spent a difficult few weeks after the fight.
During an episode of The MMA Hour in the first week of April, Maycee Barber revealed that she spent nine days in the hospital after her UFC 299 win. Her ailment was unknown. It was assumed that she had contracted some sort of infection but none of the doctors were able to ascertain her disease.
She had a high fever and at a point, she even believed it was fatal. However, she recovered enough to be discharged and recently she was regaining her energy levels. Lately, she came across an individual who likely wanted to harass her.
An unknown woman threatens Maycee Barber on the street in California
In the late hours of Tuesday, Maycee Barber got into an altercation with an unknown woman on the street in California. The woman is being called a “Karen” (a slang term) by social media accounts.

Barber is recording the video in which the woman was seen getting close to the UFC fighter’s car. Barber is heard asking the woman to move away from the car but she was not willing. In a later scene, the woman threatens to “bust up” Maycee Barber’s face. The UFC fighter and her friend asked the woman to try doing it. She likely did not know she was up against one of the top UFC flyweight fighters.
The video concluded without any physical altercation which is probably a good thing for the unknown woman. She might have faced the same wrath that befell the man who tried to rob Polyana Viana.
Polyana Viana avoided a robbery attempt in Brazil by putting her fighting skills to use
In 2019, UFC fighter Polyana Viana faced a robbery attempt in Brazil. She was waiting for her cab when a man came next to her and asked for her phone while claiming that he was armed. However, Viana remained calm and took care of the situation.
“When he saw I saw him, he sat next to me,” Viana told MMA Junkie. “He asked me the time, I said it, and I saw he wasn’t going to leave. So I already moved to put my cell phone in my waist. And then he said, ‘Give me the phone. Don’t try to react, because I’m armed.’ Then he put his hand over (a gun), but I realized it was too soft.

“He was really close to me. So I thought, ‘If it’s a gun, he won’t have time to draw it.’ So I stood up. I threw two punches and a kick. He fell, then I caught him in a rear-naked choke. Then I sat him down in the same place we were before and said, ‘Now we’ll wait for the police.’”
It was later revealed that the man had been arrested before as well. He was left in a bad condition and the police took him to the hospital while Viana went to the police station to file a complaint.
