WWE tends to put on hit-or-miss shows rather frequently. WrestleMania 38 was a fantastic 2-night event that truly celebrated Sports Entertainment. But that might not be the case for its follow-up Premium Live Event, thanks to the Chairman of the company. Here are 5 ways Vince McMahon might ruin WrestleMania Backlash 2022.

5. Vince McMahon might book Omos to “destroy” Bobby Lashley
It’s no secret that Mr. McMahon likes big, sweaty men. There are entire meme templates dedicated to this truth. His obsession with larger-than-life figures is well documented; from Giant Gonzalez to The Great Khali, he has tried multiple times to establish “freaks of nature” as dominant Sports Entertainers.
Omos is a young talent and has a bright future ahead of him. He lost to Bobby Lashley at the Show of Shows, but he might just destroy him at WrestleMania Backlash in a squash match. This would be the wrong call, as the All-Mighty only recently became the 1st person to take The Nigerian Giant off his feet. It could ruin Lashley’s entire run.
4. Charlotte Flair might retain her title at WrestleMania Backlash
Judging by all accounts surrounding this rivalry, Vince McMahon might defer to his favorite booking strategy; having his top babyface consecutively lose big-time matches. Recent reports have suggested that WWE is looking to make Flair vs Rousey a “long-term program.”

You might be wondering exactly how they could ruin an “I Quit” match, but there are precedents. Chief amongst them is the fact that Ronda Rousey regularly brings her daughter backstage. WWE has shown with AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston that they aren’t afraid to involve family members. However, in the case of Po, it will be very ill-advised to do so.
3. Seth Rollins might walk off in the middle of his match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania Backlash
The Visionary, Seth Rollins has been a highlight on Monday Night RAW ever since he was drafted there. Seth’s insane, over-the-top character work is currently the hottest thing in WWE. So it would be very anti-climactic if they had him revert to his “other” Monday Night-inspired gimmick.
When Rollins was the Monday Night Messiah, there was a period when he started walking out of matches in a daze. The reason for that was to write him off for paternity leave. However, Seth’s recent mental breakdown on RAW surrounding Cody Rhodes‘ return might lead him to pull a Survivor Series 2020; which would ruin the entire feud.
2. WrestleMania Backlash 2022 might have another “Army of the Dead” moment
As of this moment, Damien Priest is not scheduled to appear on WrestleMania Backlash. He has been banned from ringside for AJ Styles vs Edge. And perhaps that is for the best because the Archer of Infamy was involved in possibly the worst WWE moment of all time, at the same PPV, this time last year.
While promoting Batista’s “Army of the Dead”, WWE decided to send actual zombies into the ring as the “lumberjacks” for Priest vs Miz. It completely ruined what was, to that point, a stellar wrestling match and put a damper on WrestleMania Backlash 2021 as a whole. Here’s hoping Vince McMahon doesn’t make the same mistake this time.
1. The Bloodline vs Drew McIntyre & RK-Bro could end with a non-finish
WWE has already ruined the main event of WrestleMania Backlash 2022 by pulling the Title Unification Match between RK-Bro & The Usos. In its place, they’ve announced a star-studded 6-Man Tag Team match which will also feature Drew McIntyre & Roman Reigns.

The company is already reeling from fan backlash due to the sudden change to the card. What would be worse is if the match ends up in the main event slot, and concludes with a non-finish. All 6 men involved are massively over right now. Vince McMahon might just ruin a Premium Live Event finish to keep them “looking strong.”
What do you think will happen at WrestleMania Backlash 2022? Will it be a good show? Or will Mr. McMahon ruin it, as we think he might? Let us know in the comments!
