The wrestling fans seem to be convinced that an absent WWE star could potentially return and challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. The wrestler is none other than The Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre.
The two-time WWE Champion has been missing in action since partaking in a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus and Gunther at WrestleMania 39. While it was rumored that McIntyre would be out for a while thanks to an injury, nothing has been made clear on behalf of the company. Fans are still clamoring to see The Scottish Warrior in action and wish for him to return soon.
One of the main talking points with regard to Drew Mcintyre that has emerged online is that he should be the one in line to challenge Seth Rollins for the newly won World Heavyweight Championship. With Money in the Bank around the corner, McIntyre seems to be a favorite among the WWE Universe when it comes to facing The Visionary. Many fans were of the opinion that McIntyre would be the perfect candidate to challenge Rollins since the Money In The Bank PLE is in the UK this year.

The Visionary was the first ever to have partaken in the inaugural matches of three titles – the NXT Title, the Universal Title, and now the World Heavyweight Championship. He is determined to be a fighting champion, unlike his former S.H.I.E.L.D partner Roman Reigns, and a match against Drew McIntyre could be a treat for the fans.

As mentioned earlier, Drew McIntyre has been off WWE programming since his bout at WrestleMania 39. However, one other factor seems to be hindering his return to programming – his contract situation. McIntyre’s current contract will be up in 2024, according to reports, and he is yet to sign a new deal. The former world champion and WWE have seemingly come to a standstill when it comes to a new deal and the amount that should be on the table.

Meanwhile, McIntyre recently got his American citizenship, according to PWInsider. But there has been no word on where the contract situation currently stands. The outlet stated that he was seen flying out to New York earlier this week, but it was unclear where he was heading.
It has also come to light that McIntyre’s sister-in-law passed away recently, and his family has been mourning her demise. It remains to be seen when McIntyre will return to action and what the future holds for him.
