The buildup to the fight between Dillon Danis and Logan Paul has arguably been the most controversial one in recent times. But before his beef with The Maverick, the MMA star also had a rivalry with the WWE star’s brother, Jake Paul.
Just like the controversies before the October 14 fight with Logan, the lead-up to Danis’ bout against Jake also had notable incidents. Among everything that happened, the one thing that stood out the most was The Problem Child’s drive-by water balloon attack on El Jefe in December 2020.

After the incident, Ronda Rousey‘s ex-boyfriend was considered to be the one who shared the location with Logan and Jake, and thus selling him out. Now, after about three years, Danis has confronted the truth about Brendan Schaub selling him out to the Paul brothers.
This happened during the 30-year-old’s recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. During their conversation, the host started talking about the balloon attack, and asked Dillon if he was set up by Brendan, by saying, “You don’t think he told them?”
Answering the same, the MMA star replied, “He probably did.” Listening to this from the fighter, Ariel wasn’t able to hold himself back. He said, “He sold you out for views.” The host not being able to control was understandable, as it seems more of a betrayal to face something like this from someone so close to you.
Are Dillon Danis and Brendan Schaub still friends?
With Schaub being accused of doing something like this to his former close friend Danis, a lot of people might be wondering if they’re still friends. Or has this incident turned them into rivals? The answer to this question was also given by the 30-year-old fighter during his interview on The MMA Hour.
While talking about the drive-by attack by Jake Paul, El Jefe was also questioned about his current relationship with Ronda’s ex-boyfriend. When asked whether he is still friends with the former pro-MMA star, Dillon revealed something very surprising.
Despite Brendan being the possible reason behind such an attack, the 6-foot-tall performer said, “I don’t mind Schaub.” Not just this, the combat sports artist also shared that he feels that the 40-year-old host is a really good dude.
Looking at how Danis responded to the whole thing, it seems that he’s still on good terms with Brendan. On the other hand, he also talked about his fight against Logan Paul during the interview.
Due to the heavy involvement of Nina Agdal in Dillon’s attacks, the match is going to be a very personal. Thus, it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top during their match on October 14, 2023.
