According to sources familiar with the situation, The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that McMahon has admitted to considering a comeback. WSJ reported that he feels that the claims would have been resolved if he hadn’t left the company and that he was given “bad advice.”
According to the source, McMahon hastily decided to leave WWE because he thought “the charges and investigations would have blown over” if he had stayed with the business.
Wall Street Journal’s report says that Vince McMahon is now dealing with more demands for compensatory damages as a result of allegations of sexual assault. Rita Chatterton, a former WWE referee, has demanded more than $11 million, and an undisclosed figure is being requested by a former spa manager who claims that McMahon abused her at a California resort.

It is unclear what position Vince McMahon would expect to take should he rejoin the fray as neither McMahon nor WWE has commented on the most recent revelations. Interestingly, McMahon still holds a majority stake in WWE.
Why did Vince McMahon announce his retirement?
Mr. McMahon announced his retirement from the WWE in 2022. He retired as a result of numerous accusations made against him. According to a Wall Street Journal investigation from June, the former chairman was engaged in giving hush money to a number of women to cover his multiple affairs.
At 77, time for me to retire.
Thank you, WWE Universe.
Then. Now. Forever. Together. #WWE #thankful— Vince McMahon (@VinceMcMahon) July 22, 2022
After the allegations came out in public, Mr. McMahon was under investigation by the board of directors. Days after the investigation, on June 17, McMahon resigned as CEO and appointed his daughter Stephanie McMahon as acting CEO. Although Vince McMahon retained creative control while resigning as CEO.
Further investigations have revealed that Vince McMahon settled non-disclosure agreements for about $12 million. The WSJ’s follow-up report put Vince’s career in danger of collapsing and drove him to retire. On July 22, he took to Twitter to thank the WWE Universe for his four decades of support and made his retirement officially known.
Who is the CEO of WWE now?
After Vince McMahon left, WWE underwent a rocky new phase. Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon were named Co-CEO. On July 22, Triple H took over as the new Head of Creative after John Laurinaitis, the previous EVP of talent relations, was fired.

Under the new Triple H leadership, the creative direction is exceptional. Since Vince McMahon’s retirement, The King of Kings has already made numerous changes to WWE Television.
Since his retirement, Vince McMahon has kept a low profile, making it exceedingly unlikely that he will return to WWE anytime in the near future.
