The WrestleMania season is incomplete without WWE’s annual Hall of Fame ceremony. WWE dedicates one evening from their hectic schedule every year to honor the legends who put their body on the line to entertain the fans.
The 2023 edition of the Hall of Fame ceremony will happen on March 31st, after Smackdown. The Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, California will be the venue for the event. This year’s ceremony will also mark the first Hall of Fame event since Vince McMahon left creative duties.
Unlike previous years, it took WWE a while to announce the inductees this year. The Hall of Fame class of 2023 members were announced only in March which was very surprising to the WWE universe. The company as of now has confirmed three names and they are as follows:
Rey Mysterio
While fans were sure that the legendary Luchador would eventually find his deserved spot in the Hall of Fame one day, many didn’t see him getting inducted this year. Rey Mysterio is one of the most influential superstars in the history of the business. He is a Grand Slam Champion in the WWE and has competed in some of the world’s biggest promotions.
Rey Mysterio is currently an active member of the WWE roster and is in an ongoing storyline with his son Dominik Mysterio. The Mysterios will face off against each other at WrestleMania 39. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see if Dominik will go full heel and spoil Rey’s big moment at the iconic ceremony. WWE legend and Rey’s friend Konnan is expected to induct the star at the ceremony.
The Great Muta
WWE opened the “Forbidden Door” to induct the Japanese legend The Great Muta into the Hall of Fame 2023. The legend has never stepped foot inside a WWE ring but his contribution to the industry guaranteed him a spot at the table with some of the all-time greats.

The International star who was an influential figure in the pro wrestling world was added to the class of 2023 two months after his retirement. WWE legend Ric Flair was the one who broke the news. Muta has won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship four times in his career. He has also wrestled some of wrestling’s biggest stars.
Andy Kaufman
The late comedian is one of the most deserving celebrity entries on the list. Kaufman’s feud with WWE legend Jerry Lawler is one of the most talked about programs by hardcore fans. Kaufman slapping Lawler on the face during “Late Night with David Letterman” is an iconic moment in their feud. He also became one of the most hated heels in the business during the 80s.

Jerry Lawler is expected to induct the legend into the Hall of Fame but due to his recent health worries, his participation is unconfirmed.
