Former pro wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gained much prominence as a WWE superstar during the acclaimed ‘Attitude Era’. Following an incredibly successful wrestling career, Dwayne moved to Hollywood, where he reached tremendous heights and is currently one of the biggest movie stars in the world, along with being a successful film producer.
Throughout his acting career, Dwayne has been featured in several high-profile and big-budget Hollywood films. Most of his movies also performed astoundingly well at the box office. Some of Johnson’s biggest blockbusters include movies from the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise, the Jumanji series, Disney’s Moana, San Andreas, and more.
In 2021, Dwayne starred in a high-budget movie “The Jungle Cruise,” along with popular female Hollywood actor, Emily Blunt. The movie was produced and distributed by Walt Disney Productions, with Johnson being one of the producers as well. Prior to the release of the movie, The Rock and his co-star, Blunt appeared on the USA Today to promote their movie where they sat down for an interview as well.
During the interview, the interviewer, Brian Alexander brought up the texts and personal videos that Dwayne sent to Blunt to convince her to work in the movie. Blunt interrupted and said, “It got stalker-ish. Do I need to call the police, Brian? Do I?”. To which Johnson responded, “It was only borderline stalker-ish. I’m going to get arrested. Chris Hansen is waiting outside”.

Emily said while laughing, “The “Catch a Predator” host? Seriously?”. Actually, Dwayne wanted to work with Blunt because he claimed to be a fan of hers due to her performance in “The Devil Wears Prada” movie.
Why did Emily Blunt finally agree to work in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Movie?
Prior to being offered Disney’s “The Jungle Cruise” movie, Emily Blunt took a short break following the back-to-back filming of “Marry Poppins Returns” and “A Quiet Place”. Also, she initially declined to even read the script of The Jungle Cruise. However, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tried his best to get her onboard for the movie by sending her some texts and videos as well.
During the interview, Blunt also revealed the actual story behind accepting the film. She said that she wanted to meet Jaume-Collet Serra, the director of the movie to look at the script. Later, Serra met Emily to discuss the script and when the director told her that the movie was about ‘love,’ she eventually agreed to do it.

“I knew we had an innate romantic at the helm of it and a world builder. That’s what we needed. Your video didn’t do anything for me. It made me wanna run, Blunt further stated.
Speaking of the movie, The Jungle Cruise was released with a big budget and a great star cast as well. Many were even looking forward to the movie. However, the movie fell short of expectations and managed to perform moderately at the box office.
