Sadly, his pro wrestling career couldn’t last long, even after he became a popular wrestler in the WWE in his early days. Fans often wonder what he is doing now after he has moved on from professional wrestling.
After leaving the Stamford-based promotion in 2005, Marc went back to college and became an educator. He started teaching world history at Hannibal High School in New York and later became assistant principal at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton. In 2019, he became the principal of Fulton Junior High School and is currently serving in his position.
Muhammad Hassan’s WWE career and why was he fired from the promotion?
Muhammad Hassan started his wrestling career at Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2002 and competed there until 2004. On December 13, 2004, he made his debut in WWE and was accompanied by Mick Foley for an in-ring segment as a heel on RAW. Muhammad defeated Jerry Lawler in his debut match and went on an undefeated streak, defeating The Hurricane, Sgt. Slaughter, Chris Benoit, and Chris Jericho.
Muhammad also competed in the Royal Rumble of 2005, where he was immediately eliminated by a group of wrestlers. He was further drafted to SmackDown, defeated famous wrestlers like Big Show, and feuded with The Undertaker. He also faced John Cena and Batista for the World Titles on different occasions and established himself as a popular heel.
His career took a dramatic turn while he feuded with the ‘Deadman’. In a match with Daivari, The Undertaker was attacked by masked men, and Muhammad was seen doing a prayer ritual at the ringside. After the masked men were done, Hassan also applied Camel Clutch on ‘The Phenom’ and shocked everyone in the arena.
Unfortunately, this episode broadcast collided with the bombings in London in 2005 and received severe backlash from everyone. With pressure from everywhere, including the UPN, the broadcaster of SmackDown, WWE wrote of Muhammad’s character. In the following months, he was fired from the promotion.
