Legendary WWE performer Hulk Hogan has been in the headlines due to a recent interview he gave. The Hulkster recently appeared as a guest on former UFC color commentator Joe Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience”.
During his conversation with Joe, Hogan talked about a variety of topics, including Brock Lesnar’s UFC stint. Additionally, the veteran pro wrestler discussed his own journey and shared some interesting stories from his long professional career.
While talking to Rogan on the podcast, Hollywood Hogan revealed a gruesome murder story that brought Joe Rogan and the fans to the edge of their seats. This incident occurred in the late 1980s after the veteran had a match in Puerto Rico, as he was almost killed.
Hulk said, “So I go down to Puerto Rico, and we have the match. We sell out the stadium. Me and Macho Man go back to the room and we go walk in his room, and his room is trashed“.
“All of a sudden, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna go to my room.’ So all of a sudden I go to my room, and, I don’t want to say the guy’s name, but when I opened the door, he’s sitting there, and because he’s still really active, and he’s sitting there with a gun and he said, If you ever come back here, I’m gonna kill you,” Hogan revealed. While it’s obvious that pro wrestlers take real risks while performing inside the ring, this backstage incident was probably too much. Looking at the way Hulk shared it in the podcast, it’s obvious that he was really shocked when he faced this moment in Puerto Rico.
The 42-year-old star was killed just months after Hulk Hogan dodged death
Luckily, the WWE legend didn’t have to face any damage in the murder story he shared; a 42-year-old star was killed just months after Hulk Hogan dodged death. What’s even more intriguing is that the incident took place only in Puerto Rico.
The professional wrestler was none other than well-known AWA star Bruiser Brody, whose full name was Frank Donald Goodish. The hardcore performer was murdered just four months after Hulk Hogan was almost killed in Puerto Rico.
During his recent interview with Rogan, the WWE veteran also talked about Brody’s tragic death in June 1988. Hogan remembered how the late performer was called to the shower by his booker after a little argument and was killed viciously.
As The Hulkster shared this gruesome story with Joe, he was visibly shocked and said, “Jesus Christ“. As Hogan started going deeper into the incident and started sharing further details about Bruiser Brody’s murder, Rogan claimed, “That’s about as crazy as it gets“.
Looking at how Bruiser was murdered in Puerto Rico, it’s safe to say that Hollywood Hogan was lucky. After this incident in the late 1980s, the 6-time WWE Champion continued performing across the world and retired from in-ring competition in 2012. The Hulkster still remains a popular name among the fans due to his personal life and interviews.
